#1 Please introduce yourself!
My name is Yuiki. I live in Japan. I am a sophomore student and majoring in law. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, watch drama and movies on Netflix, eat delicious food, and so on. Recently, I like to read psychology books because it’s interesting to know how we think every day.
#2 What is your favorite thing about your country/city? Why?
There are several favorite things in Japan. First, the transportation system in japan is so convenient because train almost comes in punctual. So it's easy to commute everywhere. Second, there are a lot of delicious foods such as ramen, sukiyaki, okonomiyaki, and so on. Also, I like to eat "wagashi" which is Japanese traditional sweets!! Honestly, I feel like they are guilt-free sweets compare to snacks. That's one of the reasons.
#3 What made you want to join ISC67 and your table? What would you like to achieve through the conference?
私は大学のゼミで在日外国人について学んでいます。技能実習生については、ゼミの仲間が調べているということもあり、興味がありました。私は高校時代に海外研修で、ベトナムに行きました。ホームステイでは、数分毎に接続が途切れる充電コードやWifi、冷たい水しか出ないシャワー、各地で見られる雨漏りなど日本とのライフラインの差を目の当たりにしました。現在、ベトナムからたくさんの技能実習生が来日しています。日本が好きで働きに来る多くの外国人を、安価な労働力として扱って良いのか、技能実習生という制度を作った趣旨を改めて振り返る必要があります。日本の制度の脆弱さが将来的に不安定な雇用を生み出し、人々の居場所の喪失、最悪の場合「自殺」へと繋がることも考えられます。同じ被害を受けても、社会的弱者は長期的な影響を受けやすいです。この悪循環をどのように止めていくのか、一番辛い人に焦点を合わることの出来る世界をどのように作っていくべきか学びたいと強く感じます。
