[Humans of ISC67] Participant Edition: Saki Watanuma

#1 Please introduce yourself!

My name is Saki Watanuma, and I'm from Japan🇯🇵 I now live in Japan, but I will study abroad in the United States from this fall🇺🇸 I’m a third grade student at Soka University. I learn international relations and peace studies in the faculty of law. My hobbies are listening to music and watching movies and Korean drama🌼

#2 What is your favorite thing about your country/city? Why?

My favorite thing about Japan is Onsen♨️ I like it because I can enjoy nice view and relax. I often go to Onsen with my friends or families when I feel tired. By doing so, I could totally recover from stress!! In Japan, there are so many great Onsen. Especially, I recommend Kusatsu Onsen though I've never been to😂 I wanna go there someday!! Also, I like Japanese food. Japanese food is not only delicious but also good for health, so I like it🧡 Especially, I recommend Tonkatsu🐷

Tonkatsu are tender deep-fried pork cutlets served Japanese-style. You can enjoy Tonkatsu by eating together with curry🍛 I believe it is the best combination🥇Please try it!!

#3 What made you want to join ISC67 and your table? What would you like to achieve through the conference?

There are two reasons why I joined ISC67 and Table3. Firstly, I’m interested in solving poverty. And this led me to choose Table 3 which is aimed at solving food security issues. This is because I think food security issues and poverty are closely connected. Through this conference, I would like to deepen my understanding about poverty and get new insight into solving poverty. Secondly, I would like to exchange opinions about global issues with diverse people🌍 I like to talk with diverse people because I believe we can create something new by multiplying different kinds of ideas💡 There are people from diverse backgrounds and values in ISC67, so I thought it is the ideal environment for me🌈 My goal in this conference is to respect any opinions and create a great solution with T3 members!!!
