Please introduce your self !
Hi, I am Sakura Tomonari, a junior at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies. I major in International Relations and learn a wide range of subjects such as international politics, history and culture. My interest lies especially in international cooperation and social business, so currently I try finding my way of living after graduation through activities at NPO.
There are 2 reasons why I decided to apply for ISC this time. One of them is that
would like to deepen my thoughts about topics like social problems with other students who have different back grounds and perspectives. The other one is that I thought I can gain strong-tied friends that encourage each other and talk passionately about our society, even after ISC is over. I am kind of shy a little and not that outgoing, but I will keep challenge myself in every activities including main conference. Wish me luck!
What do you think about your table topic: Legal Foundations on Human Rights ?
My table topic is legal foundations on human rights. Everyone knows how important human rights are. I looked human rights as something like consideration for others, which was the idea based on education I received before entering university. However, currently I recognize that it should be protected by social system, mainly by administration in a country. Today, we can see from daily news that many nations accept the value of human rights and its universality, and a variety of actors try protecting individual human rights beyond border. Then, how can we protect such human rights in the light of international law? ...I have not found out clear answers yet, but I think it necessary to show the significance of human rights in order for the legal foundations.
