ISC became an official member of the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots
In 2020, the International Student Conference (ISC) became an official member of the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, a global coalition of international, regional, and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that is working to preemptively ban fully autonomous weapons. The Campaign gathers civil society and youth groups like ISC to give activists a voice and generate pressure on governments to ban these autonomous weapons.
As a mark of our collaboration, ISC and the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots are organizing the first-ever Virtual Global Youth Conference on Fully Autonomous Weapons on December 12, 2020. Youth representatives from over 20 countries will gather in a dialogue with representatives from the Japanese government and the United Nations in December 2020, with the aim of convincing Japan to adopt a firm stance against killer robots.
Just being at this event sends a strong message to the Japanese government to Stop Killer Robots!
